Marple Newtown runs away with win in home opener

The Marple Newtown Tigers returned to Harry R. Harvey Field in style on Friday night, beating Lower Merion 42-7.

The Tigers struck first, as Mike White hauled in a Tommy Davis pass for a 24 yard touchdown.  Lower Merion answered to tie the game at 7-7, but MN scored the final 35 points of the game to seal the 42-7 win.

White scored five times, once through the air and four times on the ground.  Mike finished with 120 yards rushing on the night.

Anthony Rosanio added the final score on a 60 yard touchdown scamper, rushing 8 times for 108 yards.

Defensively, Joe Vegso forced a fumble and Parker Maas added an interception to stop a Lower Merion drive.

The Tigers will travel to Strath Haven on Friday, September 14.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7PM.  The JV Tigers will play at Lower Merion on Monday at 3:45P.
