Conestoga too much for Tigers

By 23 September, 2012No Comments

Marple Newtown held the powerful Conestoga offense to three scores, but that was all the Pioneers needed, besting the host Tigers 21-0.  Conestoga led 14-0 at halftime and late into the fourth quarter before adding a final touchdown to seal the victory.

Quarterback Tommy Davis completed four passes for 54 yards, Mike White had 11 carries for 56 yards, and Anthony Rosanio carried the ball 7 times for 33 yards.  Joe Vegso snagged three passes and Craig Hamilton hauled in a 10-yard strike for a first down.

A.J. Cunningham handled the punting duties, and led the defense with 14 tackles.  Parker Maas and Zach Falcone combined for a sack, while Nik Rhoads and Kevin Rafferty each had a tackle for loss.

Marple Newtown (1-3, 1-2) hits the road on Friday, traveling to Haverford High School (3-1, 2-1).
