Tiger Freshmen top Lower Merion 21-6

A 21 – 6 victory over Lower Merion found the Tigers offense controlling the tempo of the game and moving on to a 3 – 0 start.

On the games opening drive the Tiger offense drove 67 yards, chewing up almost half of the opening quarter. The drive was capped off by a 30 yard touchdown run from Noah Turner,  followed by Gino Dicamillo’s PAT Kick

The second offensive series saw the Tigers drive 25 yards in eight plays, only to fall short on a fourth down run.

The next possession saw the Tigers punch it in again to go up 14 – 0 on a 9-play, 55 yard drive leaving just over a minute left on the clock in the first half.   Weathers (4-6, 84 yards, 2 TD) would hook-up with Tyler Kostack on a 21-yard TD pass to cap the drive, with DiCamillo successfully kicking  the PAT; his second of three on the day. Within that drive, Weathers also connected with Able Hoff on a 17 yard completion., while Kyle Pizzi had a 7 yard run  on a counter play.

After holding the Aces to start the third quarter, the Tigers put together a 9-play 62 yard drive to go ahead 21 – 0.  The drive saw Able Hoff run for 32 yards on 5 carries, while Pizzi and Turner also had nice carries in the series. Ultimately, Weathers would connect with tight end Gino Dicamillo on a 27 yard TD strike; Dicamillo would successfully kick the PAT.

Defensively the Tigers were able to hold the Aces offense off the board until late in the game when they scored a touchdown, only to have their PAT attempt blocked by Travis Windle.  Travis Also logged a sack and is playing well on offense. Matt Racine stepped up on a big stop as the Aces QB attempted a QB Draw, only to fine Matt sitting home waiting to blow it up.  Able Hoff registered the games only interception capping off a great day for Able.
