Three Marple Newtown Fightin’ Tigers capped off their high school football careers by helping the East squad defeat the West team 24-7 at Widener’s Leslie Quick Stadium on Thursday, May 28.
2008 tri-captains Dan Giordano, Phil Graziano and Steve Reynolds teamed up with all-stars from the Central League & Inter-Ac on the West side, with Coach Ray Gionta serving as an assistant for the game. The East team consisted of Del-Val, Catholic League all-stars.
Proceeds from the 33rd Annual Hero Bowl benefit the Hero Scholarship Fund. The fund provides scholarships for the children of police officers, firefighters and EMS workers who have given their lives in the line of duty.
