It was another dominating performance to say the least for Marple Newtown. Marple crushed Haverford with a 42-3 final on the road putting them at 4-1 on the season.
The scoring parade started for Marple Newtown with 7:17 left in the first quarter when Mario Dioguardi runs for a 15 yard touchdown run. Ryan White has an explosive run down the sidelines to set up a 6 yard touchdown run by Ryan Duffy with 1:18 remaining in the first quarter.
In the second quarter Kevin Johnson throws a 7 yard touchdown pass to Carl Kasarsky with 11:46 remaining. To close the half Kevin Johnson has a 1 yard touchdown run to put Marple Newtown up 28-0.
The bright spot for Haverford was Pat Hughes kicking a 25 yard field goal with 7:08 remaining in the third quarter. Marple did get on the board in the third quarter when Kevin Johnson threw an 8 yard pass to Ryan White with 12 seconds remaining in the quarter.
Mario Dioguardi starts and closes the game with a touchdown for Marple Newtown. He caps the game off with a 3 yard touchdown run.
Marple Newtown has played exceptionally well throughout the season so far. They look to continue their dominance on the field when they welcome Strath Haven to Harry Harvey Stadium on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 7 p.m.
