Kevan Strigle earned first-team All-Delco honors for his play on the offensive line in the 2009 season.  The annual All-Delco team, selected by the Delaware County Daily Times,  includes eight Tigers.

First Team Offense
Kevan Strigle, Marple Newtown: A 6-2, 280-pounder, Strigle was a difference maker on the offensive line for the Tigers, one of the surprise teams in Delaware County this fall. With Strigle excelling up front, Marple Newtown totaled seven wins and qualified for the District One Class AAA Tournament for the second time in school history. Strigle’s blocking enabled the Tigers to average 290.4 yards per game. He has received recruiting interest from West Chester, Bloomsburg, Ursinus and Widener.
Honorable Mention Offense
Kevin Johnson, QB: The senior signal-caller for the Tigers finished fourth in Delaware County with a passing efficiency rating of 138.35.  Johnson completed 54 of 98 passes for 776 yards on the season, including 8 touchdowns.  Johnson also ran for 120 yards on the season, accounting for 5 ground scores for Marple Newtown.
Ryan Duffy, RB: Duffy’s 976 yards was the 9th highest in the County in 2009.  Ryan average 5.4 yards per carry and scored 4 touchdowns as a junior.
Carl Kasarsky, TE: Carl’s 19 receptions netted 220 yards and a touchdown during his senior campaign.  The Tigers tight end also spent time in the backfield, rushing for 4 touchdowns and 67 yards, mostly in short-yardage situations.
Adam Fender, K: Serving double-duty on the Tigers soccer and football squads, Fender booted 3 field goals and finished 32-34 on extra point attempts (good for 3rd place in Delaware County).  Fender also pinned opponents deep with 8 touchbacks.
Billy Weaverling, P: Billy’s punting helped the Tigers control field position throughout the year.  Four punts backed opponents up inside the 20.  Weaverling averaged 31.2 yards per punt, with a long of 46.
Second Team Defense
Brian Kelly, LB: Kelly was the only underclassman named to the All-Delco First or Second team at Linebacker in 2009.  The junior led the Tigers in total tackles (82), including 2.5 sacks, 7 tackles for a loss and 33 unassisted tackles.
Honorable Mention Defense
Ryan White, DB: Ryan earned recognition for his defense, but could have easily been tabbed as an All-Purpose standout, also returning kicks and contributing on offense for the Tigers.  White intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and had a fumble recovery, in addition to recording 33 tackles for the Tigers defense (13 solo).
