Former Marple Newtown assistant coaches are getting a shot to lead their own programs.  Scott Green is the new Head Coach at Kennett and Bob Shull is the new head man at Chichester.  Both played under current Tigers Head Coach Ray Gionta at St. James Catholic High School in Chester.
Green, who led the Bulldogs to the Catholic League title game in 1991, began his coaching career at Boyertown with Coach Gionta.  Scott’s apprenticeship included stops at Boyertown and Marple Newtown before serving as the offensive coordinator at Garnet Valley.
Bob Shull, named second team All-City as a standout linebacker in 1990 for the Jimmies, spent time in the coaching ranks at Marple Newtown and Springfield before being hired as the next Chichester head coach.
