The Delaware County Football Coaches’ Association held their annual All-Delco Banquet on November 28th at the Heritage House in Ridley.  All 25 Delco High Schools honored players from their 2011 teams.
Marple Newtown was represented by Joey Pham, Chris Kurkian and Sean Ridinger.
Joey Pham was honored for his overall contribution to the team in all phases.  Offensively, Joey played both receiver and running back.  He returned punts and kickoffs.  He had over 850 all purpose yards for the Playoff Tigers.  His defensive exploits included 6 blocked passes, steady tackling and a pick six against Penncrest.
Chris Kurkian was a steady performer from his guard position on offense.  He led the defensive line in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks.  He also was a steady punter with an averages of 37.9 yards.  Chris also provided a lot of energy, spirit and enthusiasm
all year long to the Tigers in games and practice.
Sean Ridinger was a 2 year starter at offensive guard.  He provided a steady influence along an inexperienced forward wall that developed into a good unit.  His blocking pathed the way for the Tiger running backs.  Sean was a linebacker on defense.
One of our tri-captains, his leadership was very instrumental in forming a team unity that provided the impetus for a playoff year.
Congratulations to all and Cimirrow Moat, the 2011 Millard Robinson Award Winner.
