Coach Gionta challenged his seniors to make plays and leave their mark on the 2012 season.  Gionta asked his seniors “What is going to be your moment?” just minutes prior to kickoff, and 47  game minutes later, Austin DiFabio answered with a three-yard touchdown run.

Trailing 3-0 since the first quarter, the Tigers and DiFabio scored from 3 yards out to take a 6-3 lead with 37 seconds remaining.  Upper Darby answered with a drive that saw the Royals attempt a field goal as time expired.  As the kick sailed wide, the MN sideline exploded.

The drive began with four minutes left on the clock and the Tigers at their own 45-yard line.  Marple Newtown methodically moved the ball down the field, mixing in several completions to Ross Binder and Craig Hamilton from Quarterback Tommy Davis and runs from DiFabio and Anthony Rosanio.

The defense controlled the game for both sides.  Mike White came up with an interception early in the second quarter to stop the Royals in the red zone.  Corey Power, Craig Hamilton, and Markos Katrakazis helped slow down the Royals up front for Marple Newtown.

The Tigers will travel to Radnor on Friday to take on the Red Raiders.  Kickoff is set for 7P.
