Stats – Season

By: David DiPasqua, Jr., Saturday, September 21st, 2013

Marple Newtown was shutout for the first time since last season.  The Tiger offense could not get into any sort of rhythm the entire game, as Upper Darby cruised to a 41-0 victory.

Offensively, the Tigers were led by sophomore Abel Hoff and junior Adrian Sapnas.  Hoff continues to be a major component in this offense, rushing 14 times for 75 yards.  Making his debut for the Tigers was Sapnas, who had 13 carries for 63 yards.  Sapnas also chipped in 4 tackles and a forced fumble.

Defensively, Zach Falcone led the way as the leading tackler with 8.  Other leaders on defense were Kyle Kelly, Matt McKee, and Dean Brathwaite.  Kelly recorded 6 tackles, while also recovering a fumble.  McKee and Brathwaite both had 5 tackles each for the game.

As the season progresses, these games are great opportunities to grow, learn, and develop.  The Tigers (1-3) next game will be Friday, September 27, as they travel to Garnet Valley (4-0).

Tigers Radio Network will be providing full coverage of the game, which kickoffs at 7 PM.
