Two Tiger alums will head to the second round of the Division II and III NCAA Playoffs on Saturday. Christian Whiteside and his Bloomsburg Huskies host West Chester, while Cimirrow Moat’s Wesley Wolverines host Ithaca College.
Wesley entered the playoffs as the 14-seed, advancing to round two after an opening round upset of Johns Hopkins. They’ll face the 24th seeded Ithaca Sea Gulls, who upended Framingham State in round one. The game will be played at Wesley’s Scott Miller Stadium in Dover on Saturday, November 30 at noon.
Cimirrow has seen time in the Wolverines backfield, rushing 21 times for 126 yards on the season. Moat also snagged one reception for ten yards in his second year at Wesley.
Bloomsburg clinched a PSAC East Championship with a 31-28 win over West Chester just three weeks ago. The Huskies and Golden Rams will meet at Bloomsburg on Saturday at noon with a spot in the NCAA Division II Super Region One finals on the line. Bloomsburg’s 10-1 record earned the Huskies the 11-seed and West Chester finished at 11-1 as the 15-seed. Full game notes can be found here.
Christian Whiteside has been an integral part of a Huskies offensive line that has paved the way for Harlon Hill Finalist Franklyn Quiteh. Whiteside and his linemates have Quiteh on the verge of a 2,000-yard season, as the senior back enters the game with 1,987 rushing yards on the year.
