The Hero Bowl will be played on Thursday, May 29th, 2014 at Widener University. The game benefits the Hero Scholarship Fund of Delaware County to provide scholarships for children of police, firefighters and emergency personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Three Tigers will play for the West Team in the 38th Annual Delaware County High School All-Star Football Game. The West team is comprised of players from the Central Athletic and Inter-Ac Leagues; while the East Team is made up of players from the Del Val and Catholic Leagues.

A.J. Cunningham (LB), Markos Katrakazis (OL) and Nik Rhoads (LB) will represent Marple Newtown and will all play on the defensive side of the ball. Marple Newtown assistant coach Mike Willard will serve as an assistant coach for the West Team.

Haverford HS Head Coach Joe Gallagher and Ryan Smith from Chichester will be the head coaches of the All Star Teams. Last year the West Team won, 33-14.

Tickets ($5) are available at all Delaware County fire houses and police stations and will be sold at the gate on game night. Pre-game activities will begin at 7 PM. Kick-off is scheduled 7:30 PM.
