Strath Haven: Nick Milone
Strath Haven’s Nick Milone led their offense with 196 all-purpose yards that included 14 carries for 69 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. In addition, Milone returned a punt for 84-yards for a touchdown and 2 kick-offs for 43 yards. On defesne, Milone registered 2 tackles.
Marple Newtown: Tiger’s Offensive Line – Center: Ryan Rhoads, Guards: Patt Carr, Dom Talluto, Matt McKee, Tackles: Luke Lozowicki, Kyle Kelly, & Matt Trainor
Marple Newtown’s offensive line unit paved the way for the Tiger’s rushing attack on Friday night which accounted for 246 out of 264 yards or 93% of their offense. The running game, led by Adrian Sapnas, averaged 5.7 yards per carry and provided 3 touchdowns. Futhermore, MN’s offensive line helped Sapnas run for 10+ yards on 9 different plays, two of which went for 25+ yards.
For the second consecutive week, the offensive line assisted Sapnas in breaking MN’s single game rushing record of 257 yards.
Sapnas ended the night with 274 yards on 36 carries (7.6 YPC) and 3 touchdowns. After two games, Sapnas and the offensive line are responsible for 531 rushing yards on 61 carries and all 5 touchdowns scored so far this season.
