NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – The 92nd Marple Newtown Tigers football campaign is bringing back a Thanksgiving tradition this season.

Marple Newtown Athletic Director Chris Gicking announced that a Thanksgiving Eve football game with Penncrest High School will, in fact, be happening in 2019.

“It’s exciting for the community and more than just than a game,” said Gicking.

This type of event certainly is a great night for friends, family, and alumni.

The game is slated for Wednesday, November 27th at 6:30 PM inside Louis W. Scott Stadium. The home site will alternate each year. Therefore, the Tigers will host the Thanksgiving Eve game in 2020.

Gicking also mentioned the great memories that came along with the tradition and how happy he was to start it up again.

The Tigers faced three different teams over the years in a Thanksgiving series (Springfield, Cardinal O’Hara, & Conestoga).

Marple Newtown’s season begins on Saturday, August 24th at 1 PM on the road against KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy at the Simon Gratz Supersite in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
