Several Tiger football players attended an event at Worrall Elementary School during National Library Week.  The program has been an annual opportunity for the Marple Newtown Football Team to visit the Kindergarten students.  Under the direction of Librarian Marianne Constan, the Tiger student-athletes helped the morning and afternoon kindergarten students with their computer skills.  Laptops are available for all students.  The high school students mentor the kindergarten students on how to use a mouse, how to properly put back the computers, etc.  It is a fun day for all!
The football players who participated in the morning session were present 11th graders:  Ryan Duffy, Pete Finegan, Ryan White, and Christian Whiteside.  The 10th graders included:  Ryan Furst, Jon O’Farrill, Jamie Ridinger and Sean Ridinger.
In the afternoon, Juniors T.J. FIte, Brian Kelly, Mike Luu, and Christian Massey aided the Worrall students.  Sophs, Joe Pham and Kenny Smithjoined in with the fun.
The Football Team participates in the Broomall Rotary Junior Olympics each spring.  This is an event held by the Broomall Rotary for children ages 5-12. Unfortunately, weather cancelled this year’s event that is held annually at Veterans Park in Broomall.
Coach Ray Gionta would like to thank all the boys for volunteering their time and doing such a great job in giving back to our community.
