Five Tigers prep for Hero Bowl

The Hero Bowl will be played on Thursday May 31st at 7:30PM at Widener University.  The game benefits the Hero Scholarship fund to provide scholarships for children of police, firefighters and emergency personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Five Tigers will play for the West Team in the 36th annual Hero Bowl Game.  The West team is comprised of players from the Central and Inter-Ac Leagues; while the East Team is made up of players from the Del Val and Catholic League.

Connor Breslin (center), Cimirrow Moat (running back) and Joey Pham(receiver) will play on offense.  The defensive West Squad is fortified up front by Chris Kurkian at defensive tackle.  Anthony Nicolardi will be the kicker and Coach Ray Giontawill serve as an assistant coach for the West.  The Tigers have performed well in the practice sessions that began on May 13th.

Garnet Valley HS Head Coach Mike Ricci and Tom Oropeza from Monsignor Bonner will be the head coaches of the All Star Teams. Last year the West Team won 37-21.

Tickets ($5) are available at all TD Bank branches and will be sold at the gate on game night, when pre-game activities will begin at 7 PM. Kickoff is 7:30 PM.
