CHESTER, PA – Three Marple Newtown Tigers capped off their high school football careers by participating in the 38th Annual Delaware County Hero Bowl at Widener University’s Leslie C. Quick Stadium on Thursday, May 29th. The East squad defeated the West squad, 27-6.
A.J. Cunningham, Markos Katrakias and Nik Rhoads (did not play due to injury) teamed up with all-stars from the Central League & Inter-Ac on the West side, with Mike Willard serving as an assistant for the game. The East team consisted of Del-Val, Catholic League all-stars.
Proceeds from the Hero Bowl benefit the Hero Scholarship Fund. The fund provides scholarships for the children of police officers, firefighters and EMS workers who have given their lives in the line of duty.
