If it’s not from the Philly Pretzel Factory, it’s not a real pretzel.

Each week, the Tigers Radio Network will select a “Player of the Game” from each team. The Players of the Game is sponsored by the Philly Pretzel Factory.

These are your Philly Pretzel Factory Players of the Game for Week # 6 – MN at Radnor, 10-2-14:

Radnor: Dario Falcone

Radnor’s Dario Falcone led the Raider’s defense with 14 total tackles, 10 of which were solo. He also led the team with 3.5 tackles for loss for -8.5 yards that included a .5 sack for -4.5 yards.

Marple Newtown: Adrian Sapnas

In the first half at Prevost Field on Thursday night, Sapnas had 9 carries for only 21 yards. On 3 of those 9 carries, the Radnor defense dropped Sapnas in the backfield for negative yardage (6 yards).  Aside from a 22-yard touchdown pass from Marcus Weathers to Abel Hoff, the offense was anemic. Credit the Radnor defense, they came into the game prepared and executed in stopping Delaware County’s leading ball carrier.

The 2nd half of the game for the Tiger’s offense was much different than the first and Adrian Sapnas was the main catalyst behind the turnaround. On MN’s first possession of the 3rd quarter, Sapnas capped off a 90-yard, 5 play drive with an 80-yard rushing touchdown. On the next drive, the Tiger’s offense went 56 yards in 5 plays that ended with a 44-yard Sapnas rushing touchdown.

Sapnas, with the help of his offensive line, ended the night having accumulated 254 yards on 28 carries (9.1 yards per carry) and 2 touchdowns.

For the season, Sapnas has 1,1187 yards on 130 carries (9.1 yards per carry) and 1,301 yards all-purpose.

The Philly Pretzel Factory and the Tigers Radio Network congratulate these athletes for their commitment to excellence and good sportsmanship demonstrated during the game.
