NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – The Hero Bowl, the annual Delaware County High School All-Star Football Game, will be played on Thursday, June 1st, 2017 at Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield, PA.

The game benefits the Hero Scholarship Fund of Delaware County to provide scholarships for children of police, firefighters and emergency personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

There are six Tigers who have been selected to represent Marple Newtown in the 41st Annual Hero Bowl: Carmen Christiana, Luke Lozowicki, Anthony Goodman, Cooper Maas, Dylan Conan and Cameron Mathes (will not participate).

This year, the Hero Bowl committee decided to arrange the teams as follows:

Team Blue: Academy Park, Archbishop Carroll, Cardinal O’Hara, Chester, Chichester, Episcopal Academy, Glen Mills, Haverford School, Interboro, Monsignor Bonner, Penn Wood, and Sun Valley

Team Red: Conestoga, Delco Christian, Garnet Valley, Harriton, Haverford, Lower Merion, Marple Newtown, Penncrest, Radnor, Ridley, Springfield, Strath Haven, and Upper Darby.

Last year the Red Team won, 28-23 over the Blue squad.

Tickets ($5) are available at all Delaware County fire houses and police stations and will be sold at the gate on game night. Pre-game activities will begin at 7 PM. Kick-off is scheduled 7:30 PM.

If you can’t make it to the game, LIVE  audio coverage will be provided by HavenFootball.net and updates via Tiger Radio Network’s Twitter account, @MNTigers. Steve Reynolds and Eric DiPentima will assist the crew from HavenFootball.net to bring you all the action LIVE on game day. Jim Allsman, the Tiger’s public address announcer, will be handling the PA duties for those in attendance.
